the Chicago diaries day 3/4

Conference days!
Nothing went as planned, as plans often go.  Instead of seeing the scientific sessions I told myself to sit in on, we spent the vast majority of the time at the Expo... on both Sunday and Monday.  Previous preoccupations with where we would get lunch and whether I would collapse from hunger dissolved away as I laid eyes on the miles of booths with their colorful displays of food (mainly desserts).
My favorite was the Kikkoman booth that had a delicious roast beef sandwich.  Something about how soy sauce was incorporated into the bread, beef, and topping, but I was too busy eating to process information.  I should've broken in my flats more because after perusing through a few aisles of booths, I was certain another step would kill me.  So many choices - how do food companies choose?
Peruvian cheesy fries from Bell - this was also a well-liked sample.  And the sweet pork cornbread concoction from Sensient.  AmeliaBay exists - they do liquid tea extracts.  And I made a fool of myself asking Dole if they had heard about the NC research campus... whose booth was two steps to the right.  Met a man from Pepperidge Farm, gave my resume to Nestle (no expectations though), and was pseudo-introduced to the NCSU grads who are now at Frito Lay, Pepsico, and McCormick.
This is where my life needs to go.

Chicago from Navy Pier for the IFTSA student mixer (rager).
I wish the moon was fuller.  And that we got a chance to ride the Ferris wheel at night.  And that my feet didn't get destroyed during the two hour walk in wedges.

I am definitely a city girl.
