I'm realizing fickle weather is inescapable. My apartment is 65 degrees F aka waking up in the middle of the night to curse how cold it is. I am pretty displeased. But on the bright side, I've got much comfort food material at home i.e. pasta and cheese. On a semi-related note (comfort food -> fat -> exercise -> gym), I'm taking bets against myself for whether I'll be able to convince myself to go to the gym come winter. It's just so far...
Living above Five Guys is kind of tortuous because I can't afford (money-wise and physically) to be eating burgers and fries every day, unfortunately. But it always smells so smokey and delicious when I walk home through the sketchy back alleyway. It's unfair.
Potato salad from summer dressed in madras curry mustard and thyme vinaigrette with peas and bacon. I think I use peas and bacon in too many things.
I also think I take potatoes for granted. We often have huge bags of them in our basement, and by the time I remember they're there again, they've sprouted or shriveled or what-have-you. (Sweet potatoes are usually not a problem, though.) These red guys were prime, but we also had some russets that were slightly sweeter than russets should be, so I know they had been sitting around for some time before I finally had a chance to turn them into baked fries to go with Alfred's summer diet of frozen cheeseburgers and ramen noodles.

I can confidently tell you that this did not set me back by $46,000. Nor did anyone contribute that much for me to make potato salad for myself... bummer.
