That time I drove all the way to DC for a cupcake... and to drop Alicia off and obsess over Kevin.
I think most of me wanted to go here for the name of the bakery. Baked and Wired? That's so genius; I can't get over it.. because I wish I conceived of it first. I imagine it in SF before DC, but DC's closer.
These perfectly complementary morsels are Dirty Chai and Tessita. I like how the frosting seems like it was effortlessly brushed on with one swoop of the spoon. And I like the folded paper "cups" that remind me of muffins in Aussieland.
Dirty chai.. kind of self explanatory. In lieu of a coffee beverage to perk myself up in the unusually hot weather. Moist and delicious, no complaints, even ate most of the frosting and I'm not a frosting girl.
Tessita is a vanilla cupcake filled with dulce de leche and topped with chocolate frosting.
Felt like a kid in a candy shop looking at the display. Loved that each show cupcake had its own glass chamber. Appreciated that the man in front of us was buying two cupcakes whilst holding a Sephora bag - someone's a lucky girl.
