There's something deliciously primal and masculine about sitting down with a juicy, sloppy burger.
The best is that you can do so many things with a simple burger.
I made these portabella and lentil burgers last summer (with a side of homemade fries and cajun ketchup) as a road trip lunch for Andrew.
Tomatoes, lettuce, swiss, onions, and honey dijon sandwiched between two (smushed) Harris Teeter buns.
Used these mini pans to shape them... and haven't used them for anything else since. I guess I need to make burgers again soon.
I really should start saving the recipes...
but aside from the preparation of the lentils (and waiting forever for them to cook through), these couldn't be easier especially since you don't have to deal with raw animal carcass.
(I love veggie burgers more than meat ones by far... except the rice based ones - those are meh)
Made one special for Lydia, too. Can't remember who's this is because everyone loves caramelized onions.
Bored at work.
Downloaded a shitton of music
and currently obsessed with this song:
She's so ridiculously beautiful.
And really into mixes and mashups such as:
which I stole from a friend's playlist.
It's always the small things in life that get to you most...
such as my twice failed attempts at making frozen treats with our new ice cream machine.
Going to try again tonight - fingers crossed.
Apparently you are not supposed to use fat free half and half.
