I've become one of those obsessive foodies who takes pictures of her meals. Too bad I don't actually go out to eat that much.
So this was the meal we put together with the allotted $130 from the gift certificate.
Complimentary bread basket and pineapple tear drop on arugula puree.
Appetizers
Ahi Tuna Tartare
snap pea slaw, fried ginger, spicy avocado mousse, roasted pepper oil
Favorite. I love raw fish.
Honey Smoked Grilled Quail
cracked wheat and lentil tabouleh, crisp pea shoot salad, soy mango sauce
Entrees
Poached Lobster Tail
tomato artichoke ravioli, grilled leeks, tasso ham, lowcountry oyster stew
I appreciated that the stew was not too rich. Nothing ruins a dish more (for me) than over seasoned, overly creamy broth.
Grilled Bison Medallions
cauliflower purée, wild mushroom ragoût, braised asparagus, artichoke and green peppercorn hollandaise
The cauliflower puree was a welcome substitute to mashed potatoes, which carry a vague memory of a bad experience for me. Plus, it has a better texture.
Desserts
Complimentary chocolate cake with house made vanilla ice cream for Andrew's birthday. I loved the texture of the ice cream, more icy than creamy and that grainy feel I am actually a fan of.
There was even a cute little chocolate... placard? Must learn how to do this.
Valrhona Chocolate Molten Cake
banana ice cream, bourbon butterscotch sauce
Banana ice cream was delicious. I definitely have an affinity towards banana flavored foods (minus smoothies...but I guess that's not really a "food").
Haha, it looks like a smiley face. Kind of takes away from the aesthetic value of this plate.
Lemon Shaker Pie
sweet tea sorbet, blackberry coulis
Gotta note the frozen dessert again. Sweet tea sorbet = genius. I was not a fan of the pie... more like a tart. Not a fan of dessert tarts.
I struggled to stand up (especially in my four inch heels) after this.
