[Recipe adapted from the Cupcake Deck]
My favorite baking ingredients are by far cinnamon and vanilla extract. I know no bounds when it comes to those two items. Brown sugar is a close second (maybe third after nutmeg, allspice, and cloves because I don't use it as much). I just love the associations with brown sugar... warm, maple, comfort.
Anyways, I made crumble cupcakes (another favorite: crumbs) using my silicon baking cups for the first time.
The only problem was neglecting to spray them down with nonstick spray.
Minor substitutions:
Added a bit of cocoa powder.
Whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose for the crumbs (which gave it an overwhelming wheat flavor - don't recommend it).
Paired with a fruit salad of sliced strawberries, peaches, mint leaves, and lemon juice (because fruit = best partner to baked goods without a doubt).
