My greatest accomplishment today was maintaining the beet color in these beet wrappers. Boiling = dull and brown. Steaming = pretty and maroon.
My second greatest accomplishment was popping out of bed at 730 to do laundry. Nothing better than fresh sheets and a fluffy bathmat. Nothing worse than putting the rest of the laundry away. That's realistically a task for another day.
I envisioned lavender roses when I started this project. Sadly, my purple cabbage was apparently not as potent as Frankie's purple cabbage, so after glaring angrily at my sad graying lump of dough, I decided to knead in a bunch of beet powder.
Tg it was rescued.

REALITY
All the veg dumps that exploded in the boiling water that I fried in leftover beef fat.
Eaten straight out of the pan while admiring my plated roses, which I didn't touch until dinner time and conceded that it had to be eaten at some point.
ps LOOK HOW CUTE.
Emily's chicken salad ft my buns. Reminds me of Canadians and I love them.
