the time we spent all day eating

Happy Birthday to Laura!

After epic..ly (is that not a word?) failing a physics final, the best remedy would be to put on a cute dress and drag a fellow fatass to Franklin Street (or any restaurant-lined street would do) and spend the rest of the day there.  Added bonus, listening to fellow fatass's 20 minute long story.

First stop Sugarland.  Because when you eat with Laura, you must always start with dessert.  She got a cannoli cupcake (official name forgotten) while I went with passion fruit gelato (to. die. for. so tangy, loved it).

The Mellow Mushroom
Grilled portobello mushroom with red onion marmalade,
sliced tomato and melted provolone on a French roll

Went next door with a craving for breakfast foods at Carolina Coffee Shop.
That awkward moment when the hostess has seated you after informing you that breakfast was over 2 minutes ago...

Chopstick Chicken
Sliced chicken breast with an Asian teriyaki sauce, server
open-faced on a wheat pita with lettuce and tomato

With the thought that we'd be too lazy to walk down to Sandwhich, we had our first meal there.  Yeah... first.  Unintentionally though... I guess that makes it a little better.
Ended up walking down to the Chocolate Door (where I previously got a balsamic fig truffle...and inked the combination into my brain, see below) and back up to Sandwhich.
"I just want to see the menu."
"Oh my God, I could go for a milkshake."
"Really?"
"Like actually."
"Split it?"
*Laura and Amelia dig in wallets for spare change, probably to the cashier's irritation.*
[five minutes later with vanilla bean milkshake]
"I want a cookie."
"Oh God."
"Split it?"
[ten minutes later with vanilla bean milkshake and peanut butter sandwhich cookies and having spotted the spicy ketchup]
[and having watched all the plates of food come out of the kitchen - bad idea to sit right by the kitchen]
"Now I want a sandwich."
"Seriously."
*ten more minutes of deliberation*
"Yeah so I'm gonna get a burger."

 Outrageous 'whichburger
which was both outrageously delicious... and outrageously small.  Seriously, is this meant for a five-year old?
But pretty worth it - I dare you to fit your whole mouth around it.
Whatever, I ended up going to a Chinese restaurant with the fam a half an hour later.  No shame.

A couple weeks prior at the Chocolate Door:

Which evidently tasted horrible says Alicia and Bernard... despite being their best seller says dude who encouraged Alicia to buy it.

Balsamic fig truffle - it oozed.  I love when syrups ooze out of chocolate.
