elusive eleven

It's so cold in my room my fingers have no dexterity. I might as well be camping.
Have you ever been so distracted you can't even sit around and watch TV? Yeah... me neither... it's a strange new feeling. A brave new world. I don't know how to navigate this kind of antsy-ness. It involves a lot of pacing from room to room as of now.

Today I had some more rationed Joyce treats while making a quick oat milk from the oats that I don't eat and know I'll never eat (because I'm not in grad school and I don't need emergency oats anymore). Blend 1c oats in 3c water and strain. Add a pinch or two of xanthan if you please to give it some texture (still working out the actual proportions). Hoping this will solve my lack-of-dairy problem in the quarantined meantime.

At the risk of more judgment from Krissy... I had another expired buckwheat waffle for lunch. Except this time I incubated 1/4 of the batter with starter overnight with the aim to make a tangier airier batter. Added about 2-3T of melted meringue buttercream (instead of the egg and oil it calls for) and a little scoop of harissa. It didn't taste as cardboardy today. We'll call it a success.

Eaten with more sardine roe while flipping through a cookbook I got in Buenos Aires with the intention to learn Spanish through recetas. No progress as of yet.

You know what else is suffering? My Chinese.
Called Dad today to ensure he's still alive. Embarrassed myself with how shitty my speech has gotten.

Be proud that I did a yoga video today. It's amazing how delusional one yoga video can make me feel. Like I'm cleansed and purified, and I'm going to wake up with the body of Beyonce and I'll be able to do a pull up without having to push off the ground.
So I felt like I deserved to dig into the freezer stash for one of the bags of frozen lobster ravioli that Past Meals got at Costco knowing Future Quarantined Meals would appreciate it.
Dressed it up with sauteed garlic and tomatoes and fermented basil (that I fermented whole leaf ~6months ago) in olive oil. Sardine roe found its way into this meal as well. Tossed all together with the raviolis and washed down with several mini mason jars of red wine because that's all I had.

And now I'm nursing a headache.
