essential business

Pretty sure there isn't any gray area about what 'essential' business is these days. There's a document somewhere. The rest is just common sense. But we all have our own ideas about what that means. Like the people who are all still itching to jog around Lake Merritt for some space in the literally perfect weather. I'm one of those people. Or the people who can't go several hours without seeing another human face. I'm not really one of these people. But I definitely become that person when a dinner party is involved. Oh how I already miss dinner parties. Especially with my main partners in dine.

Vietnamese spring roll//Thailand planning night
leaves
sprouts
carrots
egg
shrimp
pork
milk, basil, cilantro
noodles
peanut sauce, limes
in n out fries to snack on
I'm sure knowing just how much is too much before it can't really be rolled is as much of an art form as rolling. And I can't do either.

Zongzi [Chinese tamale] wrapping party
sticky rice
marinated pork belly
salted egg yolks
peanuts
4 types of dried mushrooms
When you get fatigued of folding them because it's honestly kind of frustrating if you don't quite know what you're doing, then just toss it all into a pot with some water and boil it until done. Makes it super easy to share while directly eating with a spoon.

Korean New Year
Songpyeon filled with honey and sesame and colored with charcoal, matcha, beet, and butterfly pea flower and molded into sometimes beautiful sometimes derpy shapes.
