I made a mental note to myself to look up all the ingredients in this cocktail so I could figure out what was sparkling... but I didn't note to note down all the ingredients in this cocktail, so it's a mystery that I was quite enamored by.
Just generally enamored by the vibes at Supperland.
I mean, have you ever seen someone so happy?
Roasted oysters drizzled generously with smoking ember butter (where they put a piece of... essentially charcoal? to give the butter a smokiness).
Hot onion dip with razor thin, ruffly potato chips.
And sausage gravy croquets (made with sage and black pepper gravy and house ground sausage) to round out the apps.
That might as well have been our whole meal, but we somehow didn't forsee the portions would be so huge at a place called Supperland.
I know now they're all about potluck family style.
But we accidentally ended up with 3 enormous "sides" and their sloppy joe special. Literally three different people raved about the sloppy joe, which I never would've given much thought to, but they emphasized that the bread is toasted in bone marrow butter.
Also would emphatically recommend the bone marrow broccoli. Oh my god, I was pleasantly shocked you could actually taste the bone marrow with the char.
Miso mac and cheese has my name (and mouth) all over it.
Mushroom risotto was wildly unexpected but made with carolina gold rice and three kinds of mushies.
I was obsessed. And ready to roll over and die.
But first one complementary macaron because I mentioned it was Nikki's birthday.
And more sparkle.
